Sciencepalettes Header Contest-First prize $20 Amazon online certificate!
Hey guys!
So Im really really bad at making things on a paint program (if you look at my personal Tumblr, you can see I am pretty lame at it LOL). I would really like an awesome header for the top of the sciencepalettes Tumblr to tie up the look of the page, so this got me thinking:
We have over 200 followers, Im sure at least one out of 200+ computer saavy people can make one that would be amazing!
I could have a contest!
Because Im a lowly, poor college student, I cant promise a crazy extravagant prize, BUT I can offer a first prize $20 online gift certificate to Amazon.com!
Guidelines:
-Keep it within the theme of science
-Appropriate for everyone (dur!)
-Be creative! This is something everyone will see on the top of the page
-Make it easy for me to upload pleeeaaaase! Please dont submit something I have to resize, edit, etc etc. Keep within the header upload limits!
Have fun with it!
And remember, the first prize is only worth $20 for amazon, so dont spend insane amounts of time doing it!
Contest will end officially on May 5th 2012. I will announce the winner and obviously let people know on sciencepalettes you designed it!

I will try and vary the subject matter of the palettes so it will be fairly evenly distributed. There will be loads of different things science related! Rocks and gems included! Im trying to make this somewhat educational, but also aesthetically pleasing. Science is awesome!
I have a Vector calculus exam tomorrow. Wish me luck xP
In other news, there are about 14-15 new science palettes in queue! I hope you guys like them! There several in there I cant stop looking at :)
These are beautiful! How do you make the palettes?
It’s actually really easy! I use paint.net and use the dropper tool and just make bars and fill them with the colors I think represent the photo the best. I think photoshop and others have an addon that will do this for you but I enjoy making them manually :)
